PLNU’s Associated Student Body hosted Samedi Gras Friday night in the lower Goodwin parking lot. As a precursor to Saturday’s Halloween festivities, the fall celebration included pumpkin carving, a haunted house, costume contests, rugby matches, games hosted by various PLNU clubs and societies and a show by comedy hypnotist Barry Jones. Although students were entertained by pie-throwing contests and “zeta pong,” the main attraction of the night was Jones, who hypnotized over 20 students. With dance-offs, singing solos and an overwhelming dose of friendly affection the hypnotized students had for one another, the show, as well as Samedi Gras as a whole, was nothing less than entertaining.
On Saturday, Residential Life sponsored a Halloween event from 9 p.m. until 1 a.m. A costume dodgeball tournament, free prizes, Fiji Yogurt and a Harry Potter showing were some of the highlights of the evening. A flat screen television was given to the winning team of the dodgeball tournament.
